就記憶所及,只改英文名的有:
油麻地 (Waterloo -> Yau Ma Tei)
旺角 (Argyle -> Mong Kok)
為令中/英文名字一致。
Back when KCR was still using diesel trains, like before 1980, what is now called Mongkok Station used to be called Yaumatei. It introduced a lot of confusion because people who actually wanted to go to Yaumatei, would get off there and find themselves miles from where they wanted to go. So when they designed the MTR line they decided to name these two stations by the road junctions they are at. For tourists who would be using a street map it would be easy to understand.
Actually naming the station underneath Waterloo Road Yaumatei still introduced some confusiong because people didn't use to call the Jordan Road area "Jordan" To them that was Yaumatei. Where "Yaumatei" station is now, is sort of in between Yaumatei and Mongkok. But I guess people's habits changed.
