後有拖車 - 單層電車拖卡

That is not 美利大廈. It is 美利道 Car park.
At least all the buildings are still there, just more added now.
And it's funny to see Johnston Road looking almost the same as it does now.
I think the shot of 德輔道中 was when 置地廣場 was being built. Around 1980?
I also remember 金鐘道 before Pacific Place and Admiralty were built. Wanchai and Central were two distinctly separate areas. (I feel old!)

Travelling on 拖卡 and top deck used to be 20 cents and lower deck was 10 cents. Someone told me that long time ago (when trams first started) Top deck was 1st class and only westerners were allowed. The front of the lower deck was 2nd class and back (not 拖卡)was 3rd class, for rich and poor Chinese respectively. Later on they abolished 2nd class and kept only 1st and 3rd. That is why for most Hong Kongers alive today there never was 2nd class on trams.

I wonder why there was never 2nd class. There must be a story behind it.

10 cents must have been quite a lot of money in 1904. Most common people probably had to walk a lot.

And it's strange to see the fare actually reduced in 1936.
