Biography
Robin Doss received the Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) majoring in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Madras, Chennai, India in 1999. He received the Master of Engineering (M.E) majoring in Information Technology and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Systems Engineering both from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University, Melbourne, Australia in 2000 and 2004, respectively. He was with Ericsson Australia Pty. Ltd from 2000 to 2001 and with RMIT University as a Research Engineer and member of the Commercial Research Group from 2001 to 2002. He joined the School of Information Technology, Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia in 2003 as an Associate Lecturer and is currently a Lecturer in computing.
Dr. Robin Doss is an active researcher whose research interests include mobility management, network security and next generation networks including ad hoc and sensor networks. His PhD thesis investigated mobility prediction schemes in next generation wireless networks and the development of routing algorithms in purely ad hoc and hybrid mobile wireless networks. Also during his time as Research Engineer at RMIT University, he was involved in commercial research projects on wireless networks. Projects undertaken included the areas of software defined radio (SDR), 3G network management, Mobile Ad hoc Networks and the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) for satellite networks. Dr. Doss has been involved in both commercial and academic research in the area of wireless networks during the past four years. His research contribution in the area of mobility management in wireless systems has been recognized internationally as evidenced by his publications. Dr. Doss has publications in international conferences of the IEEE, IEE and ACM among others, in the areas of protocol design and development for current and next generation wireless networks. He serves on the technical program committee of 6 international conferences and on the editorial panel of 2 international journals.
